Sustainability
Campus Initiatives
As a guest, it is easy to make smart environmental choices when you dine at a YCP Dining location. We know today's college students want to do the right thing for the planet and we also understand you lead busy lives, so your YCP chefs and managers do a lot of the work for you behind the scenes!
From purchasing local seasonal produce whenever possible to reducing inorganic and organic waste, your campus team is dedicated to providing you with an exceptional dining experience that is good for you and good for the planet.
Trayless
At Johnson Dining Hall and West Campus Dining Hall, you are working with us to reduce our carbon footprint. Every time you use plates without a tray, you are saving a quart of water, one ounce of food waste, plus the detergent and energy needed for washing the trays.
Reusable Containers
Our reusable container program aims to eliminate disposable waste simply by changing out the throw away mindset to that of a reusable way of thinking. A student enters the dining hall, makes a food choice, places the food in a reusable container, consumes the food wherever they wish, and returns the empty container to the dining hall in exchange for another clean reusable container.
Reusable containers are located in the Johnson Dining Hall and West Campus Dining Hall. Please ask the cashier or resident dining manager for more details.
